5 Advices for Non-English Writer

As non-native English or not having English as second language, writing in English is kind of hard and daunting. The limitation of vocabulary and grammar knowledge, sometime make me feel confusing how to express the idea into writing. Even when I have so much great idea to write, the writing process is still slow and hard. It make me want to step back and leave my English blog alone. Nevertheless, time has tough me, the writing process maybe slow, hard and daunting but the show must go on. I have to realized my dreams, even if I have to sacrificed my sweet and blood.

I have several writing advices for you who are not coming from English speaking country or having English as second language.

Don't get stressed by spelling and grammar. Although spelling and grammar are important for English writing but don't get stressed by them. Just write down every idea that crossed in your mind, write it one sentence at a time. Don't think too much about spelling and grammar, because you can revise them later after you have finished writing your article.

Use common word. If you don't have wide range of vocabulary, you should not using distinguish words which usually use by advance writers. I know that you want to look like a professional, but some English words are not having the same meaning if it translated into another language. Therefore, you must be carefully choosing the words which you want to put in your writing. Just use common word, that ordinary English person always use on their daily live. What I mean is you should not use words in your writing that you don't really understand what it means. The words that fifth grade students use in their writing class. By the time you vocabulary grow, you can use distinguish words in your writing.

Use online translator. There are many online translator services, but I personally use Google Translate. It has simple interface that is easy to use and It has large quantity of languages. Another reason why I use it, because its translation is close enough to the meaning of my language. Since it only run online, I only use it when I write while I connect to the internet.

Use digital dictionary. I am sure that a lot of humbly and sincere person out there whose developing English-Your language dictionary in digital version. Some of them are free and some are paid. Even if you have to pay for it, its benefit is priceless. Use it when you write while you are offline.

Hired ghostwriter or freelanced your work. If you have enough budget and you don't want to get a headache because of the writing process, you should consider to hire someone to do the job. There are many outsourcing writing service all over the net. you can have a piece of your article for only $10, depending on how long and complicated your article. You just have to give them the subject and the main keyword of the articles, which you want to have. You will have your article in less than a week, without hassle and confusing.

As your writing skills grow, you will realize that writing in English is not a burden anymore. Just enjoy the ride, and go writing tiger...go, go, go.
